Aurora Innovation, a health technology company focusing on the accessibility of healthcare services, has appointed Antti Luoto as Country Manager for Finland and the Baltics. With experience in sales leadership roles at companies such as Nokia, Telia, and Terveystalo, Luoto has witnessed the challenges in Finland’s healthcare closely and aims to contribute to solving them.
Aurora Innovation has appointed Antti Luoto as Country Manager for Finland and the Baltics, starting from January 2nd, 2024. Luoto’s 15 years of experience in major technology companies such as Nokia and Telia, along with his background as the B2B Sales Director at Finland’s largest private healthcare service company, Terveystalo, provide a strong foundation for developing Aurora Innovation’s business.
Luoto has previously worked in Germany and Italy. Healthcare systems and their challenges vary significantly worldwide and in Europe. Having closely observed the struggles of Finland’s healthcare system, including availability challenges, Luoto aims to find solutions that reduce the workload of healthcare professionals and improve patients’ equal access to care.
“Healthcare professionals, such as nurses, doctors, and psychologists, constantly stretch themselves to manage patient work and administrative tasks. At the same time, patient queues are growing, and those without occupational healthcare or insurance may have to wait a long time just for an assessment of their need for treatment. This is the central challenge that Aurora Innovation wants to help solve, and it also makes my work meaningful,” says Luoto.
Aurora’s teleQ solution automates communication between the customer and healthcare, streamlining the daily routines of both healthcare personnel and customers. When healthcare experts are more reachable, and communication is smooth, time management becomes easier for both healthcare professionals and customers. One of the system’s key tools is a scheduled callback service, providing opportunities for calm and high-quality customer interactions.
“When we talk about digitalization, we often think that the result for the customer is a choice of chat service, web application, and video. However, true multi-channel service also requires communication methods that do not require digital skills or even a smartphone. For example, many elderly individuals find digital services challenging and may not get in touch with their healthcare provider if a familiar and easy channel is not available. We must understand the significance of phone-based service as part of digitalization development and ensure that technology does not create inequality in healthcare,” says Luoto.
“Antti is the best person to lead Aurora’s business in Finland and the Baltics, we are very lucky to have him onboard. As a leader, he is results-driven but deeply understands the challenges of healthcare. We don’t want to force anyone to choose between digital tools and voice-centric channels, and we also want to make the work easier for healthcare professionals while budgets are being cut. It’s more efficient and human to have digital tools and voice channels co-exist flexibly, so everyone can use the option that is most appropriate for their unique needs. I believe that Antti’s strong vision and experience will help us succeed in this mission,” says Tapani Kyrki, CEO of Aurora Innovation.
