Medical AI assistant for Patient Calls – Integration between Aurora teleQ and Tandem Health

Tandem Health’s medical AI assistant is now integrated into Aurora teleQ, making it possible for all healthcare providers to use AI transcription for clinical documentation during patient calls.
One of healthcare’s biggest time thieves is documentation. The work is important and must be carried out carefully – but it takes time and focus away from the patient encounter.
Tandem Health has developed a medical AI assistant that reduces the time spent on clinical documentation. With the integration into Aurora teleQ, this solution can now also be used during phone and video consultations.
How it works for the healthcare provider
The integration between Aurora teleQ and Tandem Health is seamless. When a healthcare provider receives a patient call in Aurora teleQ, the patient is given the opportunity to accept or decline transcription – with a simple button press by the provider in Aurora teleQ.
Once consent is given, Tandem Health’s AI assistant is activated automatically. The audio is streamed directly to Tandem Health without being stored on any servers. When the call ends, a structured clinical note is ready in the Electronic Medical Record, where the provider can quickly review, edit and sign it.
Patient-safe and efficient
The solution is developed with patient safety at its core. All data transfer is encrypted. Tandem Health is also certified according to the EU’s MDR regulation for medical devices. Since no audio is stored, clinics that are not permitted to record calls can use the solution as well.
“Being able to focus on the phone call with the patient without having to write at the same time is a great help in our administrative work. On top of that, the AI solution summarises the call with 97% accuracy, which means you can quickly scan through priorities afterwards”, says Anna, who has tested the solution at Aleris Endoscopy and Gastro.
Since notes are created automatically, the risk of human error is reduced. The healthcare provider can review and edit the clinical notes afterwards – a workflow that improves both the efficiency and the quality of documentation.
A smooth workflow
Aurora Innovation and Tandem Health operate in different parts of the healthcare ecosystem, but complement each other well.
The new integration supports the healthcare provider throughout the entire process, from initial contact and consultation to notes and documentation. The goal is to give providers the time they need for the patient encounter, and to reduce the pressure on their working day.
