Tapani Kyrki appointed Country Manager for Finland and the Baltics

Aurora Innovation, the company behind the market-leading Aurora teleQ communication solution, has appointed Tapani Kyrki as Country Manager for Finland and the Baltics. Kyrki, who has built his career in the healthcare and well-being industry, will take up the position after serving as Business Director of Silmäasema, where he was responsible for the management and development of the company’s eye clinics and optical trade business.

Mikael Liias, who launched Aurora Innovation Oy in Finland in 2009 and acted as the previous Country Manager for Finland, will take over responsibility for the strategic sales development of parent company Aurora Innovation AB and the company’s expansion into international markets. “Together with our customers, we have taken the availability and the customer experience of healthcare to a new level. Our strong position in the Finnish market provides good conditions to face the upcoming market changes. Aurora Innovation AB has a strong focus on internationalisation, and it is great to be able to build this growth”, says Mikael Liias.

At present, 38 per cent of the Finnish population have access to communication solutions offered by Aurora Innovation Oy for primary and special healthcare. The company’s best-known product, Aurora teleQ, has improved the availability of many organisations. The new country manager sees excellent opportunities in the healthcare industry for Aurora Innovation’s services, both to streamline processes and to improve the customer experience and the quality of care. Kyrki’s goal is to generate significant growth for the company and better service for existing and new customers.

Market change always creates potential, but in healthcare, it needs to be tackled with particular vigour and transparent public and private sector partnerships. And also to assist patients receive help effectively – both in acute situations and in everyday life”, says Tapani Kyrki.

Kyrki, 52, has a comprehensive career in the healthcare and well-being industry. Prior to his Business Director position at Silmäasema, he held several management positions at Terveystalo for eight years, and brought oral health-related services into the company’s business. Before Terveystalo, he has worked in management positions in early childhood education and the insurance sector, and has served as Country Manager for Weight Watchers in Finland. Strong experience from the private healthcare sector was a key factor that led Kyrk and Aurora Innovation to find each other.

“Connecting patients with individual needs and professional help smoothly, in regards to time, place and communication channel, is a constant challenge in healthcare. It is really rewarding to be able to utilise my experience from the private sector to develop the best possible cooperation with public healthcare actors”, concludes Kyrki.
